Thursday Thirteen 139th - Gourmet Edition

I was at a loss for my Thursday Thirteen, until i got a catalog in the mail last night.

I've never seen this catalog before, and don't remember requesting it, but since I'm a catalog junkie (another little known fact about me), I don't really mind all that much.

Thirteen Things I want to get from igourmet, but probably won't.

1. Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter - Apparently happy cows actually come from Ireland.

2. Gold Label Boneless Serrano Ham - only $249.00 for an 11lb. ham - Heck of a deal!!

3. Organic Maple Flakes Mill - I totally don't know what it is, but I want it...

4. Wild Boar Bacon - Actually, I'm not entirely sure about this one, but it's bacon!

5. Fire Red Chocolate Tortilla Chips - I got nothing clever here, but these actually sound yummy.

6. Kala Namak Fine Ground (Indian Black Salt) - I am ALL about new/different salt varieties.

7. Tete de Moine with Girolle Gift Set - I'm not sure about the cheese, but I love the little ribbons that the girolle makes, so I want it! :-)

8. Two by Two Artisan Buscuits - Since I'm going on an imaginary shopping spree, I guess I'll get something for the kids...

9. Tracklements Beer Mustard - And something for Budman...

10. Cypress Black Lava Mediterranean Salt Flakes - I warned you about the salt obsession.

11. Cat Tongues - How could I NOT want to see what that's all about??

12. European Drinking Chocolate - Look out Nesquick...

13. Trudeau 3 in 1 Fondue Set - It's cheaper than the Ham...

That's 13? Already? I haven't even gotten to the Stuffed Olives or the Coffee!!!

Ah well, there's always next Thursday.

Thursday Thirteen - 135th Edition

Thirteen things that are on my Amazon Wish List

1. Into the Wild
by Sarah Beth Durst (Author)

I read some excerpts from this book, and a few interviews with the author, and I really can't wait to read it.

2. Yarn Tainer Large-10.75'' x 6''

I'm not sure why I want this, but I do! In fact there are three sizes, and I want them ALL!

3. Alias - The Complete Collection (Seasons 1-5 + Rambaldi artifact box)

I miss Alias SO much!

4. Shrink Art Plastic-Clear 8/Pk 8X10.5"

ShrinkyDinks! Do you remember these?? We had so much fun with them. (I still have Christmas ornaments I hang on my tree each year that we make from ShrinkyDinks.)

5. Nikon D60 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens

Oh, I covet this camera. Or any number of other Digital SLRs I drool over on a daily basis.

6. Fred Salt and Playtime

I collect salt & pepper shakers - I have about 30 pair in storage. It started as a joke, and got a little out of control! LOL!

by Candy Wagner (Author), Sandra Marquez (Author)

My dad has this cookbook, and I decided that I just needed to get my own, instead of copying all of the recipes by hand.

8. Beginner Jewelry Making Kit

I've gotten it in my head that in addition to learning to sew and crochet, that I also want to learn to make jewelry. In addition to this kit, two others, and some tools, I have about 20 different beads on my wish list.

9. Ballykissangel - Complete Series One

This show was on BBC a few years back, and it was such a good show. (Plus Colin Farrell was on there at some point, so I gotta have them all!! LOL)

10. Smart Kit Foldaway Sewing Kit

11. Crochet Patterns For Dummies (For Dummies (Sports & Hobbies))
by Susan Brittain (Author)

My great-grandmother taught me how to do the stiches when I was a little girl, but I never learned to read patterns, and that's my biggest challenge so far.

AND

Crocheting for Dummies

I started my first crocheting project this week (If it turns out well, I might post pictures at some point...

12. 64 ct. Easy Select Colored Pencils

I actually have about two pages of coloring books very similar to this one in my Wish List. Not for the kids. For me.

13. A Lifetime of Secrets: A PostSecret Book

I am so mesmerized by this site., that I want the books now, too.

Thursday Thirteen

I decided to give the Thurday Thirteen a try - I've read a few, and I always find them interesting. Not sure I can promise the same about mine, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I couldn't think of a "topic" so I'll just go with random - Since I'm fairly new to the bloggin world, and no one really knows me.

THIRTEEN things about me.

1. I've been working on a '100 things' post for a few weeks. So far it looks like this:
1.
2.
3.

2. I have been unable to pass my math class for school, because I cannot grasp the concepts of Statistics. I have two books and several online instruction programs. It just doesn't make sense to me.

3. I had completely given up on finding "The one", the person i would spend the rest of my life with until I met Budman, and even then, he had to chase me a little while. Not that I didn't like him, but I had decided that I was done looking, and it would just be me and my kids from now on.

4. I'm glad I changed my mind. I don't know how I lived without him for all those years before we met.

5. I truly beleive that "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." If I hear political ads where a candidate is talking trash about his opponent, I tend to mentally mark that candidate off my list.

6. If something funny/interesting happened to me, and I wanted to tell someone about it, first I will tell and retell the story in my head, almost practising it before I get to that person to tell them about it.

7. If I'm in my car, I will do this out loud.

8. I was saving this for my 100 things, but I have ELABORATE lottery fantasies. ELABORATE (did I say that?) I have everything planned out to the smallest detail. What I will do, what I will buy, who I will call, who I will hire, etc... It's constantly being changed, revised, updated.

9. I am convinced that #8 makes me crazy. Come to think of it, #'s 6 and 7 don't exactly make me look sane...

10. I am almost incapable of cooking something without a recipe. Budman can walk into the kitchen and create, but I must have a recipe and follow the instructions. I will rarely deviate from the recipe, and if I don't have an ingredient that is on the list, I will most likely abandon the attempt and find something else to make.

11. Speaking of Budman, he can taste food, and tell me what's in it. If I put too much baking powder in my cake, for example (This has actually happened). I think he's a freak - Who can actually TASTE baking powder?

12. I do not have any IRL friends outside of my family. I am friendly with my co-workers, but I do not have a single friend that I call on the phone or go do things with who is not related to me.

13. I'm OK with that.
