Quick note!

I will be spending the next week or two training my replacement at work. So, there won't be any blogging going on.

Hang in there, I will be back as soon as possible!! And I'll have a whole lot more time on my hands, it seems.

Also, you lovely ladies who are expecting surprises, will need to be patient with me for a little while longer. Please?? I will be sending something, but it won't be for another few days...

Thanks!!

Have a great week

FINALLY - The Weekend Update

Just not the one I promised three or four weekends ago.

First things first: (It seems like I say that a lot...) The work drama. My company informed me Tuesday that my position is being eliminated, and my duties are being transferred to our corporate office several states away (Not just me, they're doing the same with all 3 of the positions in our little corner of the department). I will be staying on until Mid-January to assist with the transition, then will be (hopefully) starting another position. I'm not sure yet whether there will be another job for me with this company, or if I will be working elsewhere. (Actually, there's a lot that I'm not sure of at the moment)

This was somewhat of a shock for us, but I'm really OK with it. I've been feeling overwhelmed and a little burned out in this position, so I think a change will do me some good. I also know that God will take care of me.

On to the weekend. Friday, I took off work to accompany Monkey's class on a field trip to Casa Manana Theatre. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed it immensely. When I took off to go on Mater's field trip last month, I didn't know any of the other mothers, and felt a little out of place. Fortunately, Monkey has FOUR other Cub Scouts in his class, and all their mothers came along, so I had a few familiar faces, and people to talk to. Not that you would know it, but I'm a little shy, and it's hard for me to jump in and strike up conversations. It was a fun day, even if we did eat lunch in the freezing cold* at the park. Brrr.

That afternoon, I took Possum to the airport so that he could go see his mother for the holiday.

Saturday was what the boys and I call a pajama day. They stayed in their footie PJs all day, we played and watched TV, played Cranium Cadoo and snuggled under blankets A LOT. Saturday afternoon, they put on clothes and BEGGED to play outside. It had warmed a little, so they got to play until dark. Oh - and I did lots of laundry. You're jealous, aren't you? Of the glamorous life I lead...

Sunday, the boys skipped off to church with Grandma, and Budman and I headed to the grocery store. When we got back to the house, Monkey headed off for his "best friend's" birthday party, and Budman and I made 10 jars of dill pickles in the afternoon, Mater and I played A LOT of board games, and did some puzzles. I also (finally) got to work on Christmas Presents. I'm making a lot of gifts this year, I can't tell you what I made, though, because SOME PEOPLE who read this blog might see it.

So, there it is, my weekend in a nutshell, not terribly interesting, but then that's life!!

*Yes, I know that to you ladies and gentlemen up North, I'm a gigantic wussy, but it was 37 degrees when i left the house that morning, and it did not warm up much all morning, in fact, it never got above 48 all day.

Half of me Giveaway Contest, More Excuses and Shameless Begging

This is part of PastaQueen's Viral video prize giveaway and super secret bonus content.

Head on over and check it out.

And - FYI, I'm going to be as lazy as possible (blogging-wise) this week.

I'm on VACATION next week, so I feel an overwhelming urge to clean my desk off (Meaning: actually work through the hideous piles of paperwork being stored in the spot where my desk used to be) before I leave for a week. This has less to do with wanting everything to be done, and more to do with the irrational fear that I will leave something undone, and come back to find out I no longer have a job.

Or maybe it's not so irrational. (I hate when I do that - begin a sentence with And, But or Or. But how else are you supposed to start the stinking sentence??) Please, someone tell me!!

So, I will be skipping the weekend update (Mainly cause my weekend was uneventful and incredibly boring.) and putting my nose to the grindstone (ouch).
=====================================
Oh, and it's
camera begging day. So, Nikon, Canon, Sony and the gang... Get with the program - I NEED that camera - Vacation is next week!! So is my birthday... You guys don't want to ruin my birthday with my crappy camera taking crappy pictures, do you???

WELL, DO YOU??

I didn't think so - So let's get moving!! Send me that wonderful camera, I will be more than happy to review it for you, and tell both of my readers the world all about it!!!

Today would be a perfect day for posting, but

I'm sick. I didn't even go to work today. I woke up long enough this morning to call in sick and to tell my children to have a good day at school, and to remind Possum that if he rides the bus home today instead of waiting for me to pick him up, he's going to be sorry. (The forgetfulness?? Is this a boy thing? Will he grow out of it? Is it just doing it to make us crazy??)

Anyway, back to me - woke up long enough, blah blah blah and then I went back to sleep until 11:00 AM. Feeling a bit like someone has kicked me in the head, and I'm about to head to the shower, to see if hot water and steam well clear the pressure and congestion from my head and chest.

I have to take Possum to an appointment this afternoon (rescheduled from last Friday when he - you guessed it RODE THE BUS HOME while his father and I took off work early and drove laps around his school looking for him for an hour.) since I am "Off" today (Why is taking a sick day being "OFF" from work?? I'm SICK!!) Budman will not be required to take off early this afternoon and I can handle it. YAY ME.

Well, it's not the post I had planned, but it will do. I'm off to the shower, and to continue being a "Bitty sang" (This is what my mother's family calls it when we're sick, puny, pathetic, hurt, or otherwise down in the dumps" No one else on earth has a clue what I'm talking about when I say "bitty sang" - usually said in babytalk). I could call anyone in my mother's family, and say "I'm a bitty sang today" and they would not only know what I meant, but I would get an appropriate level of both sympathy and baby talk. It's awesome.

Have an awesome weekend - I'll be resting - I wish.

I (do not) have the Power!!!

No Thursday Thirteen today, due to the fact that the storms here last night, knocked over some power poles, which left my work with no power. Well, not exactly, but we're running off the generator, and except for the Monitoring center, we have limited lights, and no computers, copy machines, etc. It's pretty pointless being here at all, except that I'm the only one in my dept. who has buttloads of work to do that doesn't involve the computer. i keep trying to talk the others into doing some of it to keep them busy, but no luck.

Anyway, laptop power is low, I didn't charge it last night, because I usually do that here - when the outlets are working, that is.

So, I'm out - My Thursday Thirteen has just become a Friday Fight the Frump.

Have a terrific day.

Not gonna feel guilty

I've been trying not to feel guilty about going almost a week without a new post, but I did promise myself that I wouldn't.

I've got a zillion ideas, but nothing that I've been able to turn into a post.

So, Random musings for today.

Monkey is participating in his school's Jump Rope for Heart event this week. They make it so easy to raise money - I set up a website for him and sent emails to all our family. My family rocks! That boy has already raised $125.00! He's "so 'cited" and has already begun work on his Thank you notes.

I noticed this morning, that my AdSense thingy at the bottom of the page said "Girls with no Underwear" I'm pretty sure that's not what I had in mind when I signed up.

Budman has been training the new guy at work this week, so that he can FINALLY move into his new position. Did I mentione FINALLY!?!?! He was promoted in December, and they've been dinking around with hiring someone so long, I started to get angry. So, hopefully, in one more week, my man will once again be happy with his job.

Mine, on the other hand, has been less than wonderful lately. My boss called a little meeting last week, where we discuss "Where we are" (We call these our "Where we Are" meetings - duh). I proceed to let her know "where I was" and how far behind I am due to all the new duties I've been given lately. Her answer? A new project, that will provde me with EVEN MORE WORK.
I'm thrilled. No, really. So, I've been on the verge at least 10 times a day since then. I'm haging in there - for now.

I had about a zillion other post ideas, and I can't remember any of them now.

I'll leave you with a cutsie from Mater while he was playing some sort of airplane bombing game the other day: "Bombs in the way!"
