Who's that girl??

Yes, I know, it has been a while. I haven't blogged in WAY too long. I'm going to go ahead and confess that my Reader is WELL above 1000 unread's as well, so if you've been feeling neglected lately, it's completely my fault.

Well, for my first post in ages, I thought I would get you all up to speed on what's been going on in the Sunshine household, with PICTURES!!!

This could take a while.

The Tiger Cubs toured Mrs. Baird's Bakery in Ft. Worth

141_Stewart

We had a funeral. Pop passed away in January. It was a very rough time for Budman and the boys. We're hanging in there, though.

260

Mater had a stomach bug and fell asleep in his toast. He's feeling MUCH better now.

398 390

The Tiger Cubs took a tour of the Fort Worth Star Telegram printing operations.

444

Monkey, Mater and I took a trip to the Zoo in Waco with Copper's Fox, the Tater tot and our parents.

I have to share this video - it was SO funny.

005 006

Monkey entered his first Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts - Recognize anyone??

034

My Valentine's Day present!!

001 (2)

I got a new haircut!!

We dog-sat for my MIL. I took this video of her dog, Shadow playing in our backyard.

017

Monkey went to his first Blue & Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts
And tomorrow is Monkey's 7th Birthday. He is having a party at a local pizza place, and I will share photos soon.

I have a few stories that I'm trying to keep in my head, I've been wanting to blog for a while, but as you can see - things have been pretty busy here.

I also promise, I will be catching up with my reader as soon as I can, hope you are all doing well.

And every mother's child is going to spy,

I know, my titles don't have anything to do with my posts, but I'm using lines from some of my favorite carols for titles this month. Bonus points for you if you can name all the carols. If you save up enough of those points, you can get you a big fat cup o' squat.

Sorry. Sunshine bonus points just aren't worth what they used to be.

***************************
Anyway, on to my point - I'm quite sure that I had one...

Melody from
Merrie Melody tagged me - And I'm just now getting around to it!!

Here are the rules:
• Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules in your post.
• Share seven random/weird facts about yourself.
• Tag seven random people and link to their blogs.
• Let each person know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment in their blog.

So here goes:

1)I joined a sorority in college (the first time). I pledged, but wasn't initiated. I spent NO time studying, and took my butt back home after one semester to go to community college.

2) Speaking of the first time I was in college, I started out as an Advertising Art major. I wanted to make TV commercials. What I didn't consider was that Art may not have been the best major for me, considering I can't draw a conclusion.

3) I love to eat bananas and fritos - together

4) I grew up eating rabbit on a regular basis. We were weird about it, too. We would call our meals 'Lucky and dumplins' or 'Chicken Surprise'. If you ever had dinner at my house while we were in elementary school, there's a good chance we had rabbit for dinner - and didn't tell you about it. I'm really sorry about that.

5) I am addicted to crunching ice, popping bubble wrap, and Dr. Pepper.
(Not necessarily in that order)

6) I once worked in a strip club for four months. As a bartender.

7) I played bass drum on the drum line in high school... For the last two years, anyway. The year before that I was on the color guard, and my Freshman year, I just marched my clarinet.

I tag:

I'm going to be a rebel - If you are interested in being tagged, consider it done. Leave a comment letting me know if you want to play along. I would love to read your list!

Who am I??

OK, taking care of old business first. The giveaway for my Blogoversary ends today at noon, CDT. If you haven't already entered, get on over there quick. I am hoping to post the winner tomorrow.

I am still donating my October revenue to the Alzheimer's Association, and will post the total for that sometime today or tomorrow.

Now, on to the new business
I found a new blog recently, Why are You Stalking Me?. As I was reading through past posts, there was a quiz, and I just had to take it.

I think it's pretty spot on as far as describing me.. There were only two questions, and I figured there was no way they could come up with something good off two questions, but - well, just see for yourself...

Your result for Are You a Jackie or a Marilyn? Or Someone Else? Mad Men-era Female Icon Quiz...

You Are an Audrey!

mm.audrey_.jpg

You are an Audrey -- "I am at peace"

Audreys are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union with others and the world around them.

How to Get Along with Me

  • * If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially don't like expectations or pressure

  • * I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advantage of this

  • * Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit

  • * Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge me gently and nonjudgmentally

  • * Ask me questions to help me get clear

  • * Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery

  • * Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings

  • * I like a good discussion but not a confrontation

  • * Let me know you like what I've done or said

  • * Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life

What I Like About Being an Audrey

  • * being nonjudgmental and accepting

  • * caring for and being concerned about others

  • * being able to relax and have a good time

  • * knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around

  • * my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good mediator and facilitator

  • * my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and now

  • * being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe

What's Hard About Being an Audrey

  • * being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive

  • * being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline

  • * being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally

  • * being confused about what I really want

  • * caring too much about what others will think of me

  • * not being listened to or taken seriously

Audreys as Children Often

  • * feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant

  • * tune out a lot, especially when others argue

  • * are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves

Audreys as Parents

  • * are supportive, kind, and warm

  • * are sometimes overly permissive or nondirective

Opposites, wondering and musings...

If the opposite of black is white...

What's the opposite of Red?
What's the opposite of Green?
What's the opposite of Purple?
What's the opposite of Brown?

The funny thing is, when I asked these questions to myself, an answer popped in to my head instantly for each of them. I'll let you ponder it yourself, though, without the interference of my opinion.

Last night was Cub Scouts night. I suck, I have so many pictures, and I really want to do a picture post, but I'm not comfortable putting pictures of other peoples' kids on the Internet, so I'll need to figure something out there, before I can post the tale...

Conversations with Mater:

Mater: Mom, it smells like Butt in here!!

Mater: Mom, Monkey's attackling me!"

Conversations with Monkey:

Monkey: "I'm goin' to town here, Mom!" (while drawing the coversheet for his Cub Scout scrapbook)

Monkey: "Mom, I'm keeping my eye on you!"

This weekend will be spent finishing our Halloween costumes, I really hope I can get them done. I'm still debating whether I want to wear my costume to work or not next Friday. We are allowed to, and will have a contest, but it's going to be a pain to work in all day... Hmmm... Will give it more thought.

Since Halloween is not over yet, I am still in denial about the approach of Christmas. Do NOT tell me how you finished your shopping in March, or how you're already starting on shopping for NEXT Christmas, I will hunt you down. I'll get there, the same way I always do... gradually!

First, I have to get into the Thanksgiving spirit, which involves me planning an elaborate menu, and all of us eating until we explode. Then I will be ready to think about Christmas. After I clean my family off the ceiling.

Have a terrific weekend. I'll leave you with this one - What is the opposite of puce?

I am still donating my October revenue to the Alzheimer's Association.

And don't forget to enter the giveaway for my Blogoversary! You have until October 31...

Today's the Day

The giveaway is now closed. Thank you to all who entered!
Today, I am walking in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk®. It is the largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's in the nation.

I've told you all about my
Grandpa Jack, and why I'm walking. So this morning, perhaps even as you read this, I will be walking a 5K (That's 3 miles), along with my sister, my step-mother, aunt, cousins, friends. This is the largest team we have had, and I'm hoping that Grandpa Jack is proud of us. But mostly, I just hope that he knows how much we love and miss him.

I'm not going to bore you with statistics and facts today - I've already written all of those
here and here. Today, I just ask that you spend a moment thinking a good thought for us. I will be donating all revenue for the month of October to the Alzheimer's Association This may not be much, but they're getting it all. I really hope that you will consider taking some of your time (today, tomorrow, sometime this month) to click through. It won't cost you a thing, except time, and it really is for a good cause.

And, if you would like to donate to the Alzheimer's Society, I ask that you
consider supporting me in my walk today...

=================================
Now...

Today is also the one year anniversary of my blog. (Technically, it's tomorrow, but then I would have to write two weekend posts - when I normally don't even write one, and... Oh sorry, back to the good stuff) It doesn't really feel like it's been that long, but here we are - one year later!! To celebrate, I am giving away a $25.00 gift card to JCPenney. It's not much, but it's yours, if you're the lucky winner.

Here's how to enter:

1. Post a comment on this post before October 31, 2008. I normally wouldn't make it this long, but since I'm having the contest in conjunction with my Alzheimer's fundraising efforts, the 31st it is. (Don't forget to leave an email address, so that I can notify you that you have won.) **EDITED TO ADD: Contest will close at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 31st.**

2. For two extra entries, write a blog post linking to today's post and
this one, and leave the link in a comment.

3.
Stumble this post for another extra entry.

(In fact, if you leave all that stuff in ONE comment, that will really help.)

One entry per person, the winner will be chosen at random ('cause I'm ALL about the random), and will be notified by email. I will also post it here. If the chosen winner does not respond in 3 days, I will choose another winner.

Sound fair? If you have any questions, email me (the address can be found on my
profile page)
Thank you all for a wonderful year...

Wekend Update: Random, random, everywhere...

Hello, remember me?? I know I'm a huge slacker. I still can't seem to turn all those "Drafts" into "Posts". I'm working on it.

Coming up later this week, the Cub Scout post I have been promising. I've decided to wait until after his Bobcat ceremony (is that what it's called?) to finish that one up.

Also, I have a circus recap. I took LOTS of photos (& video), and I would have had that one finished already, but life keeps getting in the way of my blogging (RUDE!) Plus, there's that whole camera slacker thing I've got going on...

So, instead I will share a bit O' the random...

Yesterday's Left-handed compliment of the day: "You're VERY intelligent in your own way." I won't share with you the response that came to mind...

I never did make it into work on Saturday. I fully intended to, but Budman had to go to his parents' house to work on their cars, and with Mater having run a fever the day before, we did not want to bring him around Budman's Dad,
Pop, for fear that he would get very sick. So, the kids and I stayed home, I did laundry and cleaned house, and felt very productive instead.

Saturday was the Circus, thanks to Possum, who said "I don't have to be there until 7:20, I thought we would leave around 7:00", (Gee, thanks for making our plans for us, we MIGHT have had something else in mind, though - So sorry we didn't consult you first!!) we were very nearly late. My parents DID meet us there, and as I'm getting out of the car, I get my SECOND phone call from my mother (She's not so good with the concept of 'go with the flow'), who says "The man here says the show starts at 7:00. That's in five minutes!" So, we hurried over to meet them at the door, rushed in and found our seats. Possum, turns out, was NOT supposed to be there at 7:20, since the silly thing STARTED at 7:00 and he couldn't find the other boys in the group, because they were already out in the CENTER RING!!! Grr, the boy makes us crazy sometimes! Oh well, he made it to where he was supposed to be, and we had a lovely time. I have lots of pictures, and will share soon.

Sunday, the little boys went to Church with Grandma, and the big one went to the shooting range with Grandpa, SO Budman and I snuck off together!! We went and had breakfast at Whataburger, then swung by the auto parts store to buy a radiator for his mother's car. (Boy, does he know how to show a girl a good time!!) Sigh... Where was I? Ah, we headed to the In-laws, and replaced the radiator - OK, so Budman replaced it, but I totally helped him, AND if I had a Chevy S-10 whatever, I could SO change out the radiator on it. I could SO!! Budman said next time he was letting me doing it all. SO there!

Surprisingly, the radiator only took about an hour and a half, and we headed back home, where I prepared a little Seven Layer dip to snack on while Budman and Possum watched the Football game, which was a tremendous disappointment, and I
Plurked.

The kids had Monday off school, so they were tasked with getting the Halloween decorations up outside. They also got to carve Jack-o-Lanterns!! The decorations aren't quite finished yet, but don't worry
BurghBaby, I will share the pictures, as promised.

I guess that's it for now. I really have lots more ideas, but somehow, I'm lacking the words to back it all up!

Oh, and remember, my blogaversary is coming up, and I will be having a giveaway!! Stay tuned for more details!!! (Dang, I'm not sure how to spell that!!!)

===================================
Please don't forget that I'm
On the MOVE for a cure to Alzheimer's. (Read yesterday's post for more details.) I'm donating all revenue from October to the Alzheimer's Association. Please stay and click a while!!! And if you wish to donate to a terrific cause, I would be honored if you would support me in my Walk on October 18th!!

Can I take care of business?

Well, Budman has been sent on another business trip. UGH.

The kids already miss him.

So do I.

He will be back soon enough, but we're not quite used to being apart from each other, which sucks, but we'll survive. I'll try to keep my whining and self-pity to a minimum...

You might ask if I worry about announcing to the Internet that my hubs is away?

DSC00676

NOPE.

Don'tcha hate my random posts!?!?!

First, It's September 11th. Not to get all preachy on you, but please make some time today to pray for those people, or just take a moment to think of them and their families. Here is a list (just one, so far) of people who have 9/11 posts today.

BurghBaby

A Mom Two Boys

Happy Meals & Happy Hour

A Mama's Blog

Amy in Ohio

Autobiography of My Feet

Twice as Nice

Draco's Rose

Cake Wrecks

Decisionally Challenged

I will update as I find more. I'm still on my first cup of coffee.

Second, Ike is a pain n the @ss. I have
one friend who has already evacuated, and another whose family is doing the same. My uncle and his family live in Magnolia, and he has a Veterinary practice in Houston, and I know Know KNOW that they will not evacuate and leave the animals. I don't even have to ask, I KNOW. Please, please keep all of those people in your thoughts, keep your fingers crossed, think good thoughts, pray - whatever you want.

Third, Tonight is the Boy Scout Rally. Monkey has been waiting for six months to be old enough to be a Cub Scout, and tonight is his big night. He's a bit nervous, I could tell, but Budman, who was also a Cub/Boy Scout (he still has all his stuff - AND his dad's - so cool) will be going with him, while I take Possum to DeMolay. Whew, let the fun begin. I think knowing that Daddy will be going with him took a little worry off his mind.

Fourth, I think I may have forgotton in the last 'Hmmhmm' years how busy High schoolers are. Possum is in ROTC, which has after school "practice?" on Tuesdays, and he also wants to be in the... Crud, I forgot what he called it... the rifles and such... not color guard, but dang it... I'll think of it, which practices on Wednesdays, and then DeMolay on Thursdays. He has been warned, if his grades are not to our satisfaction, we will yank him, so here's hoping. So far, he's been very diligent with his school work.

Fifth, Why the HELL did my step-mother feel the need to buy my SIX year old Axe Body Spray? I know she's a Grandma and must spoil him and all but really, WTF?? He's all spraying himself every morning before school, and decided that he would be wearing the spray this evening to the Boy Scouts rally - QUOTE "Even though there won't be any girls there." Huh??

Sixth, Who in the Hell said that my baby was allowed to have a **Gasp** Girlfriend??? He's FIVE, and some hussy* is on the bus blowing him kisses??? Oh Lord, no. I cannot deal with this.

Seventh, I don't really have a seventh, but I'm trying... Oh yeah. I'm really interested in
this site. Unfortunately, my work computer hates all things fun, so I will have to see if I can figure it out this weekend. I just wanted to say - if you do this and post your pictures, PLEASE let me know, because I cannot get enough of these photos...

Eighth, I am obsessed with well, actually a LOT of things but this week, it's
Chuck Norris Facts. I giggled for hours yesterday, drove both my co-workers and my husband crazy and convinced at least four people that I'm certifiable. Actually, only three - I'm pretty sure Budman already knew that about me.

  • My favorite? (today) "Chuck Norris once shot down a German fighter plane with his finger, by yelling, "Bang!"
Lastly, Have a terrific day and since I probably won't finish tomorrow's post until Monday, a great weekend, too.

*If that hussy is your daughter - I'm sorry - I didn't really mean it. Just keep her blown kisses off of my baby, please??

Busier than a one-eyed cat watchin two mouse holes

Somehow, the elementary school managed to pass out THREE different school supply lists. I thought I had managed to get everything, only to find out at 8:00 last night that the list they gave me at "Meet the Teacher" night was different from the first two lists I was given. For both grades. Ugh. I will be getting more school supplies tonight - THE NIGHT BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS!!!

Yikes.

I completely blew off all laundry this weekend in favor of a really addictive video game, so I will be dong that tonight, too... Yeehaw.

Along with making sure two very dirty boys get their bath (They're most likely not dirty right now, but they will be.)

I need to call the financial aid office for MY shcool once they open, because they STILL won't release my funds, and I'm kinda freaking out...

UGH.

Monkey will be joning Cub Scouts this year, and of course, the meetings are on Thursdays. Also, every event scheduled at their new school so far has also been on a Thursday AND, Possum has DeMolay on Thursdays. Budman and I are gonna be busy on Thursday.

I cannot tell you how happy I am that a three day weekend is coming up!!!!!

Thank you for letting me complain. I know I'm not the only one, but sometimes, you just got to let it all out to feel better! So, tell me how busy you are. (Or whatever else you want to complain about.) GO ahead - let it all out...

The craziness that is my life.

Ok - so enough of the changes crap - back to the mundane details of my day-to-day life.

This morning, I drove Budman's truck to work, because I need to leave early today to take the little ones to meet their teachers, while Budman is taking Possum to DeMolay (I really wish they hadn't scheduled Meet the Teacher for a Thursday, but they didn't consult me in the planning stages...).

We have limited parking at our house, so the truck is parked in the ditch out by the street. We have had rain almost non-stop since Sunday. (Can you see where this is going yet??) That's right, I couldn't get the truck out of the ditch (but at least there was no rushing water this time...) It wasn't stuck, it just didn't want to climb the little hill to get up to the street.

I had to go back into the house, fuss at Possum for not being ready to go (He knows that his Dad will jump his @ss when he comes down and finds him sitting there watching TV, but he still does it - TEENAGERS!!!) and get Budman to move the truck for me. THANKFULLY, he was able to coax his lady out of the ditch and up onto the road, so that I could get to work only 15 minutes late today.

This is actually an improvement over the past 7-10 days...

=====================================

Also this morning, I took a pair of Knee-highs out of my drawer, tried to put them on, and discovered a hole in the heel. So, I threw them away, and grabbed another pair, put them on and discovered a hole in the heel. ugh!

Now, I suppose I could have taken the one good knee high from each pair to make a complete set, but they weren't the same shade, and I'm weird like that. Back to my drawer I went, where I find a navy trouser sock, a black trouser sock and a maroon trouser sock. *Sigh*

So, I stole borrowed a pair of socks from Budman.

=====================================

At work, my boss hired a new temp to replace the replace the one that left. She started work yesterday around 10:00am. This morning, around 9:00am, my boss started asking if we had seen her.

My co-worker and I checked the file room.

No new girl.

We checked the break room.

No new girl.

We checked the bathroom.

No new girl.

This was about two hours after we first noticed that she hadn't been at her desk in quite some time.

A quick check of her desk told us that wherever she went, she took her purse with her. This is how I know it wasn't aliens. Aliens never let you take time to grab your purse.

I am completely befuddled by this, because I would NEVER dream of walking off a job, even if it sucked. I would just wait out the day, say 'this isn't working out for me', and then not come back. I certainly wouldn't leave without a word to anyone.

And if she wasn't walking out, if there was some true emergency, then she would have said something - to SOMEONE, right?

I don't know why I am continually amazed by people. I should be used to it by now...

=====================================

Oh - and I'm in the process of creating a blogroll, it's over there.
<====

I used the blogger gadget, but I don't really like it, because I can't change the font color, and it's really hard to read. Anyway, I'll get to work on that as soon as I learn a little more HTML, or whatever.

My point is (Oh yes, I actually had one this time) that if you are not on the blogroll, and you want to be, leave a comment, or email me to let me know.

If you are on the blogroll, and you don't want to be shame on you leave a comment, or email me to let me know.
Have a great day.

Procrastination and linky love, etc...

I've been getting closer and closer to that 100th post. In fact, I'm there. The next time I post, it will be my 100th. So, until I finish that blasted list, this will have to hold you. I know, you've been waiting with baited breath, checking in daily just to see what I might have to say next.

I could just post the little snippet above and be done with it, but that would be cheesy (Gosh, do I use that word a lot or what?)

AFTER the 100 things post, the next thing I'm going to have to figure out is how to do a blogroll. In the meantime, though. I'm going to give a little bloggy love to a few of those bloggers that I cannot miss on a daily basis. Now, this isn't everyone I love, so if you're not here, don't get mad. I have big plans to continue this little project in the future, so there's time for me to include everyone.

If recipes are your thing, then you need to check out Lori at My Wooden Spoon
. I have tried quite a few of her terrific recipes and even won one of the awesome contests. She has other blogs as well, you should check them out.

Of course, When we're talking recipes, I can't not mention
The Pioneer Woman. The recipes are amazing. Budman will forgive almost any sin for Marlboro Man's Favorite Sandwich or some Wings, and I've had to stop making the Onion Strings, because I ate them ALL. BY. MYSELF. And I'm addicted to all her other blogs, too.

For the Kids, and fun stuff to do with them, I always read Marie at
Make and Takes. She just had a new baby girl, and she is the cutest thing! I also love Michelle at Scribbit. I'm fascinated by Michelle's life in Alaska. I would love to live there - y'know, except for all that cold...

For my everyday, keep me entertained/what did her kid(s) do today/what funny thing was said/done to make me snort coffee out my nose/pee myself laughing/announce to my co-workers that I sometimes snort when I laugh (Just kidding about that last one - I don't. No, really, I swear!!), here are a few (just a few, because really, I NEED to get back to work soon) of my favorite bloggers.

Marla, aka FADKOG at
for a different kind of girl. Just the musical references alone are enough, but wait, there's more! You have to read the comments, too. She has some of the funniest readers!! I'm not nearly cool enough to be reading or commenting on her blog, but I do anyway and she doesn't mind, which is another reason I love her!! You just really must read. Go now. I'll wait.

Amanda at
Shamelessly Sassy - Oh lord, I though my family was messed up. Truly some funny stuff. Look for the posts on 80s lady. You will NOT be disappointed.

And
DaMama T... Funny things are always happening to DaMama

debby at
Life's Funny Like That

Holly at
June Cleaver Nirvana. Her illustrated posts are the best.

Rachel
From the Land of Monkeys & Princesses. Also has some terrific recipes...

Kelly, the
Don Mills Diva, has a cutie-pie son, who reminds me SO much of my nephew, N. She also has a new Recipe and Reviews site, so you'll want to take a look at that, too.

Creative-Type Dad. The only man on my list this time around. It is imperative that you take a look at his coloring pages.

The other Holly,
Anglophile Football Fanatic. Yes, another Texas blogger - I can't help myself. We Texans are a talented lot!! Well, they are, anyway...

And last, but not least.
Badger. I can't remember how I stumbled across her, but man, am I glad I did. Funny, funny stuff.

And last, but not least, I must include all the lovely ladies (and my new best friends) at
AllMediocre. I have found LOTS of new faves through that site (and I haven't even gotten through the whole list - don't tell, though.). There are too many to list, and I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out, so you'll have to check them all out yourself.

So, now I'm wishing that I had time to include more, because I don't want anyone to hate me and stop reading if I haven't mentioned you yet, and hate me forever, and tell everyone what a stuck-up beeyotch I am.

If for some reason, I haven't found you yet, leave your link in the comments, and I will check you out!

Have a terrific day - and be patient with me while I finish that damn 100 things list.

One Word Meme. This should be interesting…

Meghan, at AMomTwoBoys, and creator/founder of AllMediocre, did NOT tag me for this Meme, but I’m doing it anyway, because we’ve already established that I’m being lazy this week. Like Meghan, I’m sure that only using one word for anything will be a hoot, but I’ll give it a shot, anyway.

It occurs to me, that all these meme's are just making it that much more difficult for me to complete my 100 Things list, but I suppose I'm strange, quirky and just downright weird enough, that I should be able to come up with a few hundred things to share about myself.

1. Where is your cell phone? Non-existent

2. Your significant other? Budman

3. Your hair? Ugh

4. Your mother? Elegant

5. Your father? Opinionated

6. Your favorite thing? Family

7. Your dream last night? None

8 Your favorite drink? DrPepper

9. Your dream/goal? Degree

10. The room you’re in? Cubicle

11. Your hobby? Sewing

12. Your fear? Alone

13. Where do you want to be in 6 years? Beach

14. What you’re not? Domestic

15. Muffins? Banana

16. One of your wish list items? CAMERA!

17. Where you grew up? Texas

The Adventures of Super Moron

So this morning, I was standing out by the car, waiting for Budman to come unlock it for me. He was taking to long, so I headed back toward the house to help him look for the keys.

About that time, he came outside, and at the moment, I felt pain on my leg. When I looked down, I realized that my slacks, shoes and trouser socks were COVERED in ants.

Yes, really.

Yes, I know this kinda sh*t only happens to me.

Yes, I know I'm a gigantic dork.

Shall I continue??

So I let out a little squeak, kicked off my shoes and began brushing the ants off. The little bastards were biting me through my trouser socks, and I was already itchy.

Budman, I believe, was torn between concern and wanting to laugh at me. He managed to feign enough concern that I didn't have to kill him.

So, after I quickly rid my self of the passengers, I was able to hop in the car so we could get on our way to work. And all I could think the whole way there is "I really hope I got them all, 'cause if I brought any ants into this car, Budman's going to have kittens."

Random Thoughts...

  • To the family riding their bicycles past my house Sunday, whose son whizzed by exclaiming "I will NEVER get tired of this!!": I hope you nurture that enthusiasm. I pray that he will never lose that joy for life. Enjoy it.

  • When I’m listed on page 28 of the Google search results, how in the HECK does someone actually end up at my site? In all my searches (I am the Google queen), I have ventured past page 3 MAYBE five times or so – and even then, that’s only if I am looking for something specific.

  • To my work: I understand cutbacks. I can deal with the elimination of birthday parties and department lunches. I’m slowly adjusting to the switch from FedEx to shipping via USPS. But I swear, the one-ply toilet paper is the last straw…

  • Other than being lazy and needing to get some work done, the other reason I'm posting so sporadically, is that I'm coming up on my 100th post, and my 100 Things list still looks like this:
    1.
    2.
    3.

  • Although, if I time it just right, I might be able to make it coincide with my birthday. Not sure why that would matter... And actually is I were to do that I might have to get with the program and even post twice a day or two...

  • Forget that last bit. Sometimes I should make sure that the stuff inside my head stays there..

Half of me Giveaway Contest, More Excuses and Shameless Begging

This is part of PastaQueen's Viral video prize giveaway and super secret bonus content.

Head on over and check it out.

And - FYI, I'm going to be as lazy as possible (blogging-wise) this week.

I'm on VACATION next week, so I feel an overwhelming urge to clean my desk off (Meaning: actually work through the hideous piles of paperwork being stored in the spot where my desk used to be) before I leave for a week. This has less to do with wanting everything to be done, and more to do with the irrational fear that I will leave something undone, and come back to find out I no longer have a job.

Or maybe it's not so irrational. (I hate when I do that - begin a sentence with And, But or Or. But how else are you supposed to start the stinking sentence??) Please, someone tell me!!

So, I will be skipping the weekend update (Mainly cause my weekend was uneventful and incredibly boring.) and putting my nose to the grindstone (ouch).
=====================================
Oh, and it's
camera begging day. So, Nikon, Canon, Sony and the gang... Get with the program - I NEED that camera - Vacation is next week!! So is my birthday... You guys don't want to ruin my birthday with my crappy camera taking crappy pictures, do you???

WELL, DO YOU??

I didn't think so - So let's get moving!! Send me that wonderful camera, I will be more than happy to review it for you, and tell both of my readers the world all about it!!!

I know, I know...

I know, it's those @#$%&* LOLcats again. After i first discovered them, and proceeded to embark on a full day LOLcats overdose, I rarely ever visited the site again, but I saw a funny one here, which then led me to the next/previous one on the site, and I laughed so loud, my co-workers think I'm a freak...

So, here it is. I really need to get some work done today, I will be off tomorrow to go to my uncle's Memorial service. So, in the interest of getting my butt off the internet and back to work, here's today's cheating, lazy post. kthxbai.

Took 14 stitches in my forehead.

Ok – and since this list happened to be missing numbers 17, 21, 22, 23, 45, 49 and 57, here are seven more things about me.
  • I am a full-on Dr. Pepper addict. I’m sure it’s the caffeine, but I will not give up my Dr. Pepper. And I DO NOT drink diet.
  • I talk in my sleep. I can have complete conversations or it can be absolute gibberish. Budman claims that I mostly speak Furbish.
  • Somedays, I REALLY REALLY miss being a stay at home mom.
  • But, I also like to dream about finishing school, and imagine what kind of job I get.
  • I day dream A LOT.
  • I enjoy disagreeing with my co-worker, just to annoy her as much as she annoys me. I am deliberately disagreeable at every opportunity. Sometimes, I feel really guilty about this.
  • I've decided that I'm going to grow things this year. Flowers, herb, whatever. Unfortunately, I forgot about my horrible procrastination habit and my brown thumb. I actually re-planted a weed, because I thought it was something, and I've only been able to grow basil so far... And the bugs are loving it. UGH.

Picture mosaic

I found this at Autobiography of my Feet. And since I'm so creative and always come up with my own post ideas I decided that I would do something else, of course, I snagged it. Mine's not as lovely as Z's, though - so check hers out as well.

Wanna do it? You know you do - 'cause it's a good way to kill an hour. (Just don't do like I did and hit the back button to make changes). Anyway - Here's what to do!!

A. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.

B. Using only the first page, pick an image.

C. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd’s mosaic maker.

1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food?
3. What high school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. Favorite drink?
7. Dream vacation?

9. What you want to be when you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. One Word to describe you.
12. Your flickr name.

Here's mine...

I suppose mine could have been a lot more avant garde or artsy fartsy or whatever it is that you're supposed to be going for, but I kinda went for the obvious choices. I'm like that - Obvious.

Here are the photo credits... 1. Life is like a melody, 2. Lobster landing, 3. Grapevine - Sunrise, 4. Berlin blues, 5. Legolas.jpg, 6. Dirty Martini, 7. Cabin by the Lake, 8. Banana Split , 9. More of the laziness!

I really have nothing today - I'm tired (more so than usual), I can't think of a thing to write and I'm trying to convince myself to work at work today - instead of half-assing it, and checking blogs at every opportunity. Anyway, here's what I've got...

I don't usually post these - I kinda feel like it's cheating. But, I found this one a while back at
DamamaT's, who can't remember where she found it... This one described me VERY well, so I have to throw it out there...

You Are a Carousel

You are young at heart and a truly playful person. No one would ever accuse you of taking life too seriously.

You are definitely in things for the fun. You find joy easily, and you are often building up anticipation for your next adventure.

In relationships, you tend to want to be babied and taken care of.

And while you may be a bit high maintenance, you are incredibly loyal.

Your life is simple and satisfying. Each day you treat yourself to something you enjoy.

You have a lot of emotional attachments, and experiences are extra vivid to you.

You tend to be nostalgic and sentimental. The past is important to you.

Comfortable around all living things, you have a special connection to animals and children.

At your best, you are whimsical, free spirited, and creative.

Even if your schemes seem a bit strange, they usually work out wonderfully.

At your worst, you are spoiled, demanding, and impossible to satisfy.

You've been known to act like a brat if you aren't getting your way!
